My name is Ruby, and I’m the founder of Ruby’s Property Walk, a platform born from a journey filled with unexpected detours, deep transformation, and relentless determination. I’m a disabled entrepreneur, a mother, a former senior health and social care professional, and now — a property investor on a mission to make wealth creation through property accessible to everyone, especially those who, like me, have often felt left out of the conversation.
But let me take you back a bit, to how this all started.
My Story: From Caregiver to Care Receiver — and Back Again
For over 20 years, I worked within the UK’s health and social care sector. I held roles from direct frontline care to senior commissioning, overseeing services that impacted thousands of lives. I advocated for vulnerable people, designed person-centred services, trained staff, and made strategic decisions to improve the quality of life for others.
But life changed dramatically when I was involved in a road traffic accident that altered the trajectory of everything I knew.
I went from being the one who cared, to the one needing care. From being the decision-maker, to being on the receiving end of a system I had once helped shape. Suddenly, I was navigating disability, pain, barriers, and a deep personal transformation — emotionally, physically, and financially.
This experience shook me. But it also woke me.
It gave me a dual perspective that few people in my industry ever get — seeing the care system from both sides. It revealed the gaps, the stigma, the inequalities, and the unspoken assumptions that exist for disabled individuals, especially within ethnic minority communities.
And yet, even in my darkest moments, something inside me remained unshaken — my drive to create, to build, and to uplift.
Why Property? Why Now?

The answer is: necessity and vision.
As I faced physical limitations and long-term health challenges, I realised I needed to rebuild my life on new terms. I needed to create financial independence, not just for myself, but for my children — and for others like me who feel locked out of traditional wealth-building paths.
I began learning everything I could about property — from sourcing deals to managing renovations, understanding financing, tenant rights, regulations, and building long-term value. What I discovered was this: property can be a powerful tool for empowerment, but the system isn’t built with people like me in mind.
So, I decided to change that.
